How do I join the Creative Arts
Department?
You must first be a member of Atlanta City Church. You can do this by
attending G.T.S.
101. See our
Growth Track page for the next scheduled class. Then, just fill
out the CAD
application and turn it into Pastor Kathy Hill.
What type of commitment is expected
from you?
Each department is looking for a six
month commitment. This allows you a span of time
to determine if God has really called
you to this ministry.
Is attendance to rehearsal mandatory?
Yes! However, we do make
exceptions for special circumstances (i.e. jobs, children,
sickness, and vacations). God
deserves the best we can give. It is only through
consistent and productive rehearsals
that we can achieve such excellence. If you
cannot attend, call your section
leader.
Do I need any special training to
join the choir?
No, just a heart that is willing to
worship and develop the gift God has given you.
Must I have a professional background
in the instrument I play?
No,
although we are unable to train beginning musicians at this time. Contact
Victoria
Huffman for further details.
Is childcare available?
Yes, childcare is provided for
children ages 1-10. This is a free service.
When and where is rehearsal held?
Rehearsal is held every Thursday
evening from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The band and mic
singers then practice until about
8:30 PM. Corporate prayer is held in the choir room
from 6-6:30 PM on Thursdays.
What kind of wardrobe is required?
We established a dress code for the
purpose of modesty and uniformity. We feel this
creates a look of excellence. We
utilize a set of colors that we rotate every six months.
Please do not feel you have to
purchase a huge wardrobe to join the team. A basic pair
of black pants with a few different
color shirts will be sufficient.
Can I serve in any other capacity
while I am serving in the CAD?
It depends on what department and
how much commitment they require. So, it would
be a case by case situation.

What are the ministries involved in
the Creative Arts Department?
Choir, rhythm section, sound,
camera, multi-media, lightings, and drama.
What time do I have to be at church
for pre-service practice?
Sunday call-time is 7:45 AM. These
times are subject to change.
